Uzbekistan and Friends Cultural Week 2025 in Pesaro

From Friday, June 13 to Friday, June 27, 2025, the historic city of Pesaro, located on the beautiful Adriatic coast, will become the stage for an important cultural event: the “Uzbekistan and Friends Cultural Week.” This unique festival aims to promote encounters and exchanges between various artistic and cultural expressions, creating a bridge between Uzbekistan and Italy.
Pesaro is ready to host the “Uzbekistan and Friends Cultural Week,” under the patronage of the Municipality, promoted by the “Progetto Angeli – A.P.S” Association and the Embassy of Uzbekistan. The event’s opening will feature representatives from the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the presence of Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Beauty of the Municipality, Daniele Vimini.
The festival celebrates the tenth anniversary of a project conceived and realized by artist Aida Abdullaeva, an initiative that has gradually built a strong cultural bridge between Italy and Uzbekistan. “I feel deeply proud,” said Aida Abdullaeva, President of the association, “because I perceive that our commitment and contribution have been fundamental in this ten-year journey, aimed at creating a bond that led to a historic meeting between the two heads of state.”
In 2015, Uzbekistan was still little known in Italy, despite its ancient roots and great history. With patience and wisdom, Aida decided to create, step by step, bilateral cultural events. Her background in cultural sciences in her home country allowed her to deeply understand the world of cultural creation and promotion.
The adventure began in 2015 with the “Festival of Art, Friendship, and Peace Italy-Uzbekistan” in Gubbio, where, for the first time, a collective exhibition was organized with Aida in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Uzbekistan, in the presence of the Academy’s President, Akmal Nur, and renowned Uzbek artists. In 2016, the same festival was replicated in Pesaro in collaboration with the cultural association VerbumlandiArt, chaired by Regina Resta, marking the start of Aida’s “Progetto Angeli” in 2017 and the “Uzbekistan Cultural Week” in 2023, always under the patronage of the Uzbek Embassy and the Municipality of Pesaro. Aida’s goal was to promote knowledge of Uzbekistan, its history, culture, hospitality of the Uzbek people, and traditions, inviting Italians to visit cities like Samarkand, Bukhara, and Tashkent; similarly, she wanted to introduce Uzbeks to Italian culture, language, art, fashion, and music through exhibitions, concerts, masterclasses, and fashion shows in Uzbekistan. In 2021, this project evolved into a cultural association, Progetto Angeli A.P.S., composed of many supporters of Italian and Uzbek culture, committed to spreading values of beauty, solidarity, friendship, wisdom, and tolerance in diversity. Over the years, numerous cultural events have been organized with the association’s members: more than 40 young Uzbek talents, artists, and musicians have visited Italy, while about 30 Italian artists and musicians have had the opportunity to be guests and visit Uzbekistan, participating in various cultural and artistic events in the country.
In 2023, official visits were made by the President of Uzbekistan to Italy, while in 2025, from May 28 to 29 in Samarkand, the first official visit of the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, Giorgia Meloni, took place, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations. “The Italy-Uzbekistan summit held in Samarkand confirmed the firm will to further develop and consolidate strategic partnership relations,” said the Uzbek President. Meloni also expressed admiration for Uzbek hospitality: “I am very happy,” she added, “to have kept my commitment to come to Uzbekistan, the first stop of my visit to the Central Asian region. I want to thank you for the extraordinary welcome given to me and the Italian delegation: a truly exceptional friendship, and I am very grateful.” It was a very positive meeting between the two countries. The agreements signed between Italy and Uzbekistan involve investments exceeding 3 billion euros. Additionally, a street in Tashkent will be named VIA ROMA.
The “Uzbekistan and Friends Cultural Week 2025” will open on June 13 at 6:00 PM at the renowned Galleria d’Arte Degli Specchi, located within the Alexander Museum Palace Hotel, of Count Alessandro Marcucci Pinoli. The Gallery, famous for its elegance and artistic value, will provide the setting for the opening of an exhibition that promises to amaze and inspire.
This year, the Cultural Week will host a variety of talents, including artists, designers, musicians, photographers, artisans, poets, and writers, all united by a passion for creativity. The presence of tourism experts will further enrich the event, as they will offer new perspectives on Uzbekistan’s cultural treasures.
The event represents a golden opportunity not only to discover Uzbek art and culture but also for international artists to celebrate cultural diversity and promote constructive dialogue.
The Cultural Week is not just an event but an intense experience that fosters encounters between cultures and the creation of bonds among people. It is an occasion to approach fascinating traditions, discover new artistic trends, and, above all, live unforgettable moments together.
The President of the Cultural Association expresses great enthusiasm for this event: “We are happy to bring to life an event that celebrates creativity and friendship between peoples. We look forward to welcoming participants from different countries and sharing with them the beauty of Uzbek culture and its friends.”
There are numerous participants in this event, which will also offer the opportunity to participate online, with video projections of works from other countries. The exhibition is also dedicated to raising awareness about rare diseases, such as Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) and Fibromyalgia.
